I'll have to see if I can add tags and/or categories to Posterous entries that end up on the blog.

But I like the addition of the Wibiya toolbar to the blog. This might actually move me to finish the pages I have started. And make some more tweaks to the sidebars and plugins. As long as things don't get too bogged down.

I also have to see about moving to a new host.

In other news, I finally made it to Connecticut to see my new niece. Which is a good thing because my brother is taking his family down to dad's to visit and if I didn't do it this past weekend, I'd have to wait even longer.

It was a dashed off “Your mama” or “u mad?” He said something stupid, and rather than coming with a point-by-point reply, I came with jokes published by his own company. It’s like joking about “White Power Rings.” No, they aren’t called that in the text. No, it isn’t a valid criticism. Yes, it is funny.

But fine. Let’s look at exactly why Sattler’s statement is the most clown shoes, two-faced thing to come out of DC since the last time somebody up there talked about how much they liked Milestone.

For the most part my blog has been a receptacle for tweets. If it wasn’t for Twitter, I’d have gaps between posts that would last months.

Something I’ve always wanted to do was blog by email or from my phone. Unfortunately, thanks to my web host, I’ve never been able to master this. For C2E2 I used the 11 O’Clock Comics tumblr page. I could use the Wordpress iPhone app, but that was a pain even when it didn’t crash.

Today I signed up on Posterous. While I Barnes & Noble I snapped a photo of the Obsessed With Marvel trivia book using the PicPosterous app, pressed update and it went to my blog (and my Twitter feed). According to what I’ve read I can also update the blog by sending an email from my Gmail account or send a text message. And the way I have Twitter Tools set up, my Twitter feed will be updated when I post to my blog.

This might mean I’ll be updating my blog more often.

Stranger things have happened.

While on the subject of blog tweaks, I also installed a Wibiya toolbar. Once the page finishes loading, the toolbar will appear at the bottom. Will it be useful? Who know. We’ll see.

Over the past week there’ve been a few things rolling around my head.

- One is a response of sorts to Derek (and Angela) regarding this blog and Twitter. Every time I try to write here, something always pops up. I run out of time, meaning the moment has passed; previous commitments crop up, like fixing a website or a forum, doing research for a podcast, doing something around the house, or spending time with Renee; or it’s just a quick little snippet, like an observation, something snarky, or a question; which is perfect for Twitter. I do have my tweets compiled at the end of the week, which is kind of in place for research or to aid my memory. Often I’ll tweet something or converse with another person on Twitter and I’ll use the digest to recall tidbits. This is because there are times Twitter is downright wonky and won’t work thanks to being over capacity so instead of being greeted by the fail whale, I’d rather use my blog.

But that’s no excuse to have post after post of tweets. As Derek stated, he can go to my Twitter page for that (and he doesn’t have to since he reads them as they are posted.

With the weather getting warmer, there will most likely be pictures taken and where else am I going to upload photos? Other than Flickr I mean. So I’ll make yet another promise to write more.

- Speaking of Twitter, I’ve been using that service a lot more than FriendFeed lately. Primarily with TweetDeck. I still get a kick out of FriendFeed and continue to post to it, but I’m not happy with any of the third-party applications available for FriendFeed. And the ability to customize TweetDeck to suit my needs is a big plus.

- I have to ask: does anyone else think that Madelyne Pryor is directing passengers to the airplane’s emergency exits in this panel?

I think that’ll do it for now. I have a podcast to record. Which reminds me: thanks to everyone that listens to Marvel Noise and 11 O’Clock Comics. Means a lot to me and to the guys. I know as soon as I hit ‘publish’ there’ll be a few more things that I wanted to mention here but forgot. Maybe I’ll send a tweet…

Okay, maybe not completely. But now, as I get ready for bed, I’m pretty much where I was at the start of the day, as far as this site is concerned.

For some reason (I’m sure there’s a logical one, but I’m too tired to explore it) over the past couple days, I’ll notice my blog will be a blank page, save for a 500 Internal Server Error. Yet, I could access the backend. But anything on the front page, or any page, was a no go. So I upgraded to WordPress 2.6.1. I’m glad I didn’t think that would eliminate the message because it didn’t. But I did deactivate some plugins and that worked. Or the 500 Internal Server Error gave up on me and let me access my site again at that very moment when I refreshed the page. Oh, and I modified the site for PHP5. Maybe that fixed it. I’ll know soon enough.

Then, I downloaded and installed WicketPixie, a WordPress theme designed by Chris Pirillo of Lockergnome, an e-newsletter writer and blogger that I’ve been following for about ten years now, more or less. And I really like it. And I would be using it right this minute, but the menu bar at the top was slightly off and I could not get the sources page to load. I’m not giving up on it, but I want to fool around with it before I go live.

It never fails. When I do not have the time to devote to something, that’s when I spend a ton of time doing just that.

In any case, I’m going to bed. Maybe I’ll do some reading. While work is kicking my butt and eating up any free time I may have during the day, I can at least record some thoughts in the car for Marvel Noise. Episode 45 was released last week.

Download here

And I can be found on 11 O’Clock Comics with Vince, Chris, and Jason. Episode 17 seems to be well received.

Previous blog posts have been moved, links are getting set up the way I want in the sidebars, pages are coming along nicely (that Podcast Appearances page is gonna be a pain in the ass), and redirectors have been put in place from old links. Plus, I was able to put the blog in the root directory, so I’m happy.

Unfortunately, my host sucks. And I don’t think I’ll be with them any longer than I have to. Port 995 is blocked, so I cannot blog from email or my Treo.

In any case, I’ll be adding more links, playing with the RSS feeds (not sure what the final tally will be – if I feel that they’re slowing the loading of the page, I’ll kill ‘em), and most importantly: posting more.
